I would also want to save this cat from a storm if it were me. He's been watching the cat for some time, so it makes sense that the moment there's a bad storm, the cat is immediately on his mind. He really works hard to get the cat, which isn't always easy. Rescuing a stray cat means going up to it, and gaining enough trust that the cat doesn't run away or swipe at him with claws. Since he's never had a cat, the basement makes sense. At first, this little guy doesn't like being sequestered away from everyone else. Overtime, it becomes his own personal domain to reign. They develop a quick and cute relationship, where the cat can't step away from his owner. They're basically attached at the hip, and the cat is usually with him, reading together, or purring on his lap. Even his old rescue dog has accepted him into his life and they've formed a bond as well. This story is beyond cute, and there's something magical about the fact that he emerged from the woods.
